Sri Mariamman Temple (on south bridge road, between temple street and pagoda st.), built in 1827 by Naraina Pillai, is the oldest hindu temple in Singapore (Chinatown). Its gopuram (entrance tower) shows that it is in Dravidian Style (south India). Sacred cows are dotted about the boundary surrounding the temple.
Le Temple Sri Mariamman (south bridge road, entre temple st. et pagoda st.) a été construit en 1827 par Naraina Pillai. C’est le plus vieux temple hindou de Singapour, il est situé dans le quartier chinois. Son gopura (tour d’entré) est orné de 72 divinités et le mur d’enceinte est couronné de statues de vaches sacrées.
